Still Haven’t Found What You’re Looking For?

Musing with Kat…

To quote one of my favorite bands, U2, it seems many women still haven’t found what they’re looking for.

Despite all our advances, all our “victories” of gaining the right to vote, the right to determine what happens to our bodies, the right to reproductive choice, the narrowing of the wage gap (note I said narrowing not closing), increases in choice of professions – including professional sports, we still seem to have an epidemic of women being depressed, suppressed, repressed, unhappy, over-extended and downright unfulfilled in their lives.

From my own experience, the simple answer is:  I didn’t follow my heart.

So what does that mean?

Women are conditioned to serve others in modern society.  We are subtly and explicitly taught to put ourselves last, and everyone else first.

We are told being a mother is to “sacrifice” ourselves for the sake of our children.

We are told to ensure our partner (presumed male in our heterosexual-monogamous normed society) is taken care of and successful because he is the “provider”.

We are expected to take care of all domestic needs and tasks (cleaning, cooking, parenting, etc) even if we work full time outside the home.

AND we are expected to be great lovers and shower attention on our partner at all times.

We are told that our value, our happiness, our success lies OUTSIDE ourselves, with the things we do and the things we have.

No wonder women are exhausted, frustrated, and depressed and have not found the amazing power of their Authentic Self that lies within.

That was me.  It may be you too.

But there is GOOD NEWS!

Changing your mindset and perspective will change your LIFE!  You can discover, develop and create the Authentic Self which is unique to YOU.

It’s a journey of self-discovery and creating an intentional life of YOUR choosing full of purpose and meaning.

Are you ready to break free of a life of lack, limitations, and restrictions, and design a life increasing Abundance, Liberation and Freedom?

In becoming the Authentic You, your life will change.

I went from living a life which depressed, suppressed and oppressed me sexually and relationally, causing me to remain overweight, working in jobs for someone else, use pharmaceutical medications and experience a very scary medical emergency, to a life where I am close to achieving my weight goal, off all medications and using Naturopathic healthcare, pursuing my dream of being an entrepreneur, and living an open ECNM (ethical and consensual non monogamous) life.

You CAN find the happiness, the joy, the clarity and the peace you are searching for.

Are you READY to take the next steps in the Journey of creating YOUR LIFE?

I am here to walk your Journey with you.  You are in Good Company.

Outside IN or Inside OUT

Musing with Kat…

A quote I remember from many years ago came from an unlikely source:  The Simpsons.  Lisa, the daughter is having a hard time in school fitting in.  She just wasn’t connecting with anyone.  This is the advice her mother gives her:

“It doesn’t matter how you feel inside, you know. It’s what shows up on the outside that counts. Take all your bad feelings and push them down, all the way down past your knees, until you’re almost walking on them. And then you’ll fit in, and you’ll be invited to parties, and boys will like you. And happiness will follow.”

This is what we as women are taught to do…not express our true inner feelings; not connect with the true and authentic self within.  We are to be what others want us to be…what society tells us we SHOULD be.
